Welcome to LEAPS with Lawson!

I am Sarah Lawson, licensed and nationally certified school psychologist!

Mission: to empower clients and their families to successfully navigate life with neurodivergence, recognizing strengths, assets, and protective factors.

Vision: to offer comprehensive psychoeducational and advocacy services that are accessible and collaborative, and to serve as a resource for the community.

Chances are, you found this page looking for help. It can be overwhelming to navigate how to get the right help from the right person. The good news is that I would love to navigate that with you, even if the help you may need right now will not come from me.

I am a school psychologist in private practice. I am the person you can reach out to when you are trying to figure out the why behind behavior. Maybe your child is having a hard time with learning, focusing, making friends, or self-regulation. You might be asking yourself if there is something wrong with your kid.

I am here to tell you that different is not wrong! You may have words floating around in your mind like neurodivergence, ADHD, autism, or dyslexia, but do not know where to go to sort it all out. That is where I come in! I give tests, and that is often why people seek me out, but there is so much more to the evaluation process than simply checking boxes to rule in or rule out a diagnosis. I spend time getting to know each person I have the opportunity to work with.

Together, we can figure out why things are happening and how to help. When you work with me, you get someone who is on your side, ready to advocate with and for you and your child. I am committed to working hard to find answers that are clear, affirming, and empowering.

I hope to talk soon!

Services Offered

  • Developmental Evaluations

I love the littles! If you suspect a delay, I can evaluate and help determine next steps!

Testing is my jam! I comprehensively evaluate kids and adults! This includes gifted, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, emotional, behavioral, social, and academic concerns!

  • Advocacy

As an expert in policy and all things school-related, I can help empower you to navigate the systems in place using a collaborative approach.

Who is Lawson?

That would be me! Some of my graduate students dropped the “doctor” and called me “Lawson,” and I came to like it. You can read more about me on the About page, but for now I will hit the highlights. My days are full. I am a mom of three. I love being a parent and very much enjoy the work I do too! I have worked with children since I was a kid, and do not plan on ever stopping. I am a warm, approachable, passionate person who takes the scary and intimidating out of testing!
